The truly noble man, honest and gentle,
Should be admitting and adaptable like a gracefully winding stream;
Regardless of whether the streamlet is big or small,
All rivers merge into the great ocean.
Allow others to be right,
And be willing to be wrong;
Thaw the frigidness of our hearts.
Allow others to be great,
And be willing to be small;
Eliminate our arrogance.
Allow others to have things,
And be willing to go without;
Untangle the knots of our attachments.
Allow others to be happy,
And be willing to suffer;
Learn from the compassion of the bodhisattvas.
To know the causes of your past life, look at the experiences of your present life.
To know the results of your future life, look at the actions of your present life.
── from Longshu Jingtu Wen
(Writings of Longshu on the Pure Land)
Life is all about transforming situations. For example, we need to be able to transform what is overwhelming into small matters, suffering into happiness, ignorance into enlightenment, and unwholesomeness into righteousness.
The key to cultivation is to transform all negative circumstances into positive ones. Finding the courage to accept, the virtue to transform and evolve afflictions into perfect wisdom, Bodhi, are important points of Humanistic Buddhism practice.

In spring,
red flowers and green leaves
complement each other.
In the dark night,
the brilliant moon and stars
display the immensity of the universe.
Even more, as long as we know how
to be tolerant and compromise,
we will discover just how wonderful
is the world of “half-and-half.”
Venerable Master Hsing Yun grants voices to the objects of daily monastic life to tell their stories in this collection of first-person narratives.
The Medicine Buddha SutraMedicine Buddha, the Buddha of healing in Chinese Buddhism, is believed to cure all suffering (both physical and mental) of sentient beings. The Medicine Buddha Sutra is commonly chanted and recited in Buddhist monasteries, and the Medicine Buddha’s twelve great vows are widely praised.
